Cheltenham Ladies Day 11th March 2015

The four day event in the racing calendar known as “Cheltenham Festival” is one of the most anticipated yearly fixtures. Not only for the Gold Cup as-well as St. Patricks day, but Ladies Day is full of glitz and glamour.

Every year there’s a vast array of fashion icons modelling this seasons top colours and styles. Having only started in 2007, Cheltenham Ladies Day has certainly made a name for itself and with fabulous Best Dressed prizes on offer, the Cheltenham fashion creates a Buzz.

The festival is held in very early spring, although its a traditional Jump festival it demands an outfit somewhere between ‘dressy’ fashion and ‘practical’ wear to tackle the british winter weather. Do you choose sophisticated dresses, or warm tweeds? This is what I’d wear:IMG_4151IMG_4140

This bargain dress was only from ebay, it is very easy to dress up and is so so comfy to wear so would be perfect to be in all day! Paired up with this belt it goes from your average dress to much more! Come rain or shine these shoes are just on point this season and are elegant but with that little bit of something. My bag was a steal from Primark hense I don’t have a link but it’s such a comfy clutch to carry but also has a long gold strap if it gets to that point in the day where I just can’t be bothered to carry anything. I’d love to be able to add a completely over the top hat but I can honestly say I 100% wouldn’t be able to pull it off, so for me a fascinator would be the way to go, either a classic all black everything, or with gold garnishings or glitter.

What would you wear to the races?

Loving – My new hair! I’m so so happy I got it cut, Especially this winter I’d found myself just chucking it up because it was in such bad condition and took far too long to style and I just couldn’t be bothered with it. Now I’m obsessed, it just needs a bit of a straighten, a jush and I’m good to go!

Hating – My dry skin. It’s always dry but recently ergh, I just can’t seem to get it to be moisturised at all, and now I have started to break out and that’s a whole new battle.

Watching – Kourtney and Khloé Take The Hamptons. Absolute guilty pleasure!

Eating – I’ve really enjoyed cooking recently, we made this garlic and herb chicken the other day, with goose fat roasties and gravy, it was unbelievable!

Drinking – Arizona White Tea! I’m not gonna lie, I just bought this because it’s from America haha, but it’s genuinely gorgeous. Plus it’s only 89p in Home Bargains.

Lusting – Real Techniques Bold Metal brushes. OH MY! I need these brushes in my life. I can’t decide which one I want the most but the rose gold is so pretty! I want them all!

On my face I have Maybelline Superstay 24hour Foundation applied with my new obsession, the real techniques stippling brush! I also have Bourjois Delice de Poudre Bronzing Powder just on the hollows of my cheeks. On my eyes I was just generally playing around with a No7 eye shadow palette I got for Christmas, just using the golds and browns. For my eyeliner I just used a basic pencil liner I got in a set for christmas, which to be honest was quite good in the end but did kind of smudge but that in the end made it a slightly smokey look, so it wasn’t a big deal. And of, course my holy grail Maybelline Falsies on my lashes!

IMG_2015My whole outfit is unintentionally primark. I snapped this dress up on a sale rack for £5! It has a slip underneath and is super warm, so bonus! My usual fleecy tights and my other bargain £20 riding boots which are sooooo comfy I can’t even explain!
