Lockdown and eating well got the better of me and I needed some naughtier food in my life haha!
Turns out I’m a pretty savvy chef when I have to be, who knew.
I somehow rustled up possibly the easiest fakeaway I’ve ever made, the humble KFC Fillet Burger.
Plot twist; the secret isn’t in the chicken, it’s in the sauce.
I like to go for simplicity. We’ve tried a couple of different chicken variants and I’d even say just straight up chicken breast would be equally as great tasting! So far though, these buttermilk chicken breast strips from Aldi are our favourites.
For your KFC Fillet Burger Fakeaway
you will need
- Your chosen variation of Chicken
- 10g of Mayo
- ½ teaspoon of lemon juice
- ½ teaspoon of pepper
- Brioche Bun
It’s this easy
Cook your chicken as per the instructions. We like to serve ours with wedges so set these off cooking around the same time.
the secret Fillet Burger sauce
Mix together the Mayo, Lemon Juice & Pepper, THAT’S IT!
Once your chicken is cooked, switch it out of the oven and grill your buns.
Be careful! Grilling buns feels like an olympic sport of getting them out at the prime time 😂
To build your fakeaway fillet burger
Get the bottom half of your bum and spread your sauce
Add lettuce and then put on your chicken
Then add the lid of the bun. WA-LA!
