So it’s been a while..
Over a year in fact. Quite a bit has happened in that time; the biggest being I’m a Mummy now!
Honestly, she’s the best thing that has ever happened to me and I could talk about her all day 🥰
Life got a bit hectic last year. Chris set up a new company and that took off which was amazing but ate up the majority of our time. Everything has finally settled into a routine so thankfully it was worth it in the end, it always is!
We had a holiday planned in September; the first one we’ve ever planned in advance. Then little legs made her appearance and put a stop to that haha! We knew there was a reason we don’t book things ahead of time 😂
We had quite a few little trips away. A few to Keswick where we spent the days walking around Derwent Water and eating cakes from Bryson’s.
We also had our annual Christmas trip to Disneyland Paris and this time we tagged on a trip to Bruge for the Christmas Markets. Amazing, cold & because I was 7 months pregnant while everyone enjoyed the local beer tasting, I lived off Hot Chocolate Milk and allllll the belgian chocolate I could get hold of!
After Christmas is when the fact we were having a baby was feeling more real than ever. We knew at this point she could have come any time. February came round and Lily was born!
Our tiny 6.1lb baby girl completely changed our lives overnight!
Now my phone is pretty much full of photos and videos of her 😂
Then Lockdown Hit.
Life got strange really quick didn’t it?
We’ve been trying to use the time to eat a bit healthier, get outside with Lily in her sling and enjoy the nice weather.
Facetiming our families so they can hopefully get a glimpse of how much our little one is changing every day. And trying to keep up with how everyone is doing too!
Now things have started to loosen a little we have finally started on our loft extension. It was supposed to be done pre-baby being born as we only have a shower in our house, not a bath but Chris is a king procrastinator and clearly reality didn’t hit him that he was going to be a Dad until she started waking him up in the middle of the night 😂
So, my maternity leave has got off to a weirdo start than most peoples but I feel very lucky that I’ve had all this extra time of just the three of us. Got to find the silver linings in everything!
How have you been spending lockdown?
