I’m so late to the party on Netflix. It was only last month we bit the bullet and signed up. Obviously Netflix sold us on the fact that we’re massive suckers for documentaries. These are our favourites so far!
This has got to be top of the list. If you’ve seen the film Nightcrawler then this is basically a Real-Life version. It follows different companies of ‘Stringers’ based in LA. Stringers meaning they’re the people who catch News Channel videos but they’re actually freelancers who sell them on. The more channels their videos on, the more money they make.
It shows each person real time racing to be the first to a Crime scene. There was one little bit though, that I felt was slightly intrusive but the cameras did turn away before you could see too much. We finished all of the episodes in one night and I bloody loved it. 11 out of 10 would recommend.
I feel like everyone and their dog have seen Making a Murderer but I have to mention it. It is one you can’t background watch. You have to watch it and basically turn into a detective. Without giving too much away, it’s about a Murder that did he kill her or did he not? Did the police set him up?
There’s plots twists galore and even more has happened since the show came out. Also, there is rumours of a new season and I am 100% here for it.
I won’t deny that I didn’t have high hopes for this one. I hadn’t seen much about the show and just kinda stumbled onto it. Think An Idiot Abroad but with more family tiffs.
Jack and his Father go on a ‘Gap Year’ to South East Asia. It’s way funnier than you’d expect and I actually cry laughed at a couple of parts and actually cried at the end. It filled that little Idiot Abroad hole in my life for a few hours. I would actually love another series of this but apparently Jack’s Dad Michael hates travel so that might be the end of that pipe dream.
What Netflix Documentaries would you recommend? Any Shows I should watch?
