I’ve found my perfect moisturisers | Body Shop

13th May 2016

For so long I thought I had just straight up dry skin. I’ve tried all kinds of moisturisers that claim stuff that just doesn’t reciprocate onto my face. I began to live with the fact I had crazy dry patches and no blemishes or having to have spots but have no dry patches. Neither of those are fun, let me tell you. I tended to opt for having dry skin, because when my skin breaks out it’s always those really painful ones that never amount to anything but should really be paying rent. TMI? Dad Joke? Good start.

VITAMIN E OVERNIGHT SERUM & SEAWEED MATTIFYING DAY CREAM - The Body Shop Moisturisers

I’d used the full Seaweed Set back in my teenage years when I had hormonal breakouts because lifes great, ey? But this well and truly sorted any problem areas. Except my dry skin! Although this claims to ‘Moisturise dry areas’ on my skin it seemed to do the complete and utter opposite. Throwback to wearing Dream Matte Mousse as a combination with this, yeah that was my awkward makeup stage. Ergh.

Anyway, as I was saying, after living with really bad dry skin for so long I just had enough. I started doing my research on all kinds of moisturisers. Not only do I have dry skin, but it’s crazy sensitive at times. Sob sob, feel sorry for me. But no really, this limits my skin care alot. The fact The Body Shop is mostly natural and for sensitive skin it looked like the best place to start.

I ended up deciding on the Vitamin E Overnight Oil Serum. After using this for around a week, I was breaking out again! Then I cracked out my trusty Seaweed Moisturiser! I put the oil on all the places I was prone to dryness & put the Seaweed cream everywhere else. And wah-lah, I’d found it! I have no idea why I’d never thought of trying more than one. If I’m totally honest, it was after watching a video, which I’m pretty sure was on facebook, about using different face masks on different parts of your face. It sounds so simple, but it’s just never something I had considered.

As it is, even though the Oil is an overnight serum; I use it every morning and every night. I put more on a night and less before makeup etc. If I don’t use it for both I can tell the difference within a couple of hours. That’s how dry my skin is! Pairing that with pale skin is just a whole other story. I can’t tell you how happy I am and how much of a saviour this stuff is! Thank you The Body Shop for saving the day once more.

What’s your holy grail moisturiser? Have you tried anything like this?
