Nails of the Week | Illamasqua

13th July 2016

My nails this week were a panic paint (that’s a thing now) when we found out about my brother in laws graduation and I had nothing but black to wear! I didn’t want to look like I was going to an interview or something so I needed some colour. I also found out I own too many pink/red and very dark nail varnishes!

Caress by Illamasqua.

I mentioned in this post that I was going to try a pale blue polish and not long after I picked up my first Illamasqua nail varnish! I bought it from TK Maxx and it was around 6 or 7 pounds, so pricier than I’d usually pay for a nail varnish but it’s sooo pretty. It’s a gorgeous pastel-y pale blue and I love it. It’s one of those colours where you keep looking at your hands just because your nails are so pretty! That could possibly just be me though, awkward haha.

The formula is like you’d expect but it did take a good three coats to make it completely opaque. I chipped a couple but I think that’s just me making rookie errors. Like those moments where you’ve got wet nails and then your oven starts beeping and your tea is burning, and you’ve got to take one for the team. But so far so good with the rest of them, and no more chipping so far!

Have you tried any Illamasqua nail varnishes? What colours should I try?
